Who builds SCMotif
SCMotif is built by Lovis Anderson, in Berlin.
I studied mathematics at TU Berlin and researched machine learning for gas network optimization at the Zuse Institute. Then I moved to industry: first optimizing production planning at Deutsche Bahn, then steering the development of supply chain network design software as product owner at OPTANO, a Kearney company.
Supply chain questions have not let go of me since. There is a lot of dormant potential in the field. Anyone who unlocks it and can give well-founded answers quickly has real impact. When an answer takes three months, most companies would rather decide on instinct.
Agentic coding is what made me realize the time is right for new tools in supply chain. I started using those tools early and was struck that anyone could suddenly drive a complete workflow that used to need specialists.
An analytics pipeline is code. Data wrangling is code, analysis is code, the report and the dashboard are code. Models today can do all of it. What is missing is the interface: the tools that exist are aimed at humans clicking through them, but none at an agent that works through the tasks and a human who checks the result. That is the gap SCMotif closes.
Supply chains increasingly have to react to conditions that change at short notice. A responsive network runs fewer trucks and emits less, and the saving shows up not least in the price people pay for products.
